The James Hunter Six
The James Hunter Six is the band led by British singer, songwriter and guitarist James Hunter, known for a gritty, soulful voice and sharply crafted rhythm-and-blues songs rooted in classic 1950s and ’60s sounds. Hunter first gained broad attention with the Grammy-nominated album People Gonna Talk, followed by acclaimed releases including Minute by Minute, Whatever It Takes and Nick of Time. He has toured or performed with Van Morrison, Aretha Franklin, Etta James and Willie Nelson. The group’s latest album, Off the Fence, released in January 2026, features the Van Morrison duet “Ain’t That a Trip.”
