Meshuggah with Testament and Blood Incantation
Meshuggah marks its 40th anniversary with “The Forty-Year Anomaly,” a Pittsburgh bill pairing the Swedish band’s intricate, rhythm-shifting metal with two distinct strains of American heaviness. Bay Area thrash veterans Testament bring classics such as The Legacy and Practice What You Preach, while Colorado’s Blood Incantation adds the progressive, cosmic death-metal approach heard on Absolute Elsewhere. Together, the lineup spans generations of extreme metal, from tightly constructed thrash to technically daring, forward-looking sounds.
