Making America: Panel Discussion
On Sunday, September 20th from 3-5pm, A diverse panel of United Steelworkers staff will come together and discuss how labor demand and policy has driven immigration in the United States. Points will touch upon how these demands and policies shaped the ethnic profile of America throughout US history as well as agriculture, basic industry, and a newly emergent service economy. Panelists will delve into the history of how employers solicited and benefitted from immigrant labor and acted as the driving engine behind migration to United States.
