VisitPITTSBURGH Launches 10 Days of #LovePGH Giveaways to Highlight Pittsburgh Businesses and Attractions
PITTSBURGH – On Wednesday, Dec. 8, VisitPITTSBURGH will launch 10 Days of LovePGH Giveaways – an exciting promotion aimed to highlight Pittsburgh businesses, activities and attractions.
The giveaways will kick off with a $5,000 donation to Tickets for Kids Charities, a Pittsburgh-based, nonprofit organization that provides free access for low-income and at-risk kids to attend the arts, cultural, educational and athletic venues in the community.
The donation is the first of many Pittsburgh-specific prize packages that VisitPITTSBURGH will give away each day, through Dec. 17, via live activations and social media promotions. Prizes range from Primanti Bros. gift cards and Pittsburgh Penguins BetRivers Lounge seats to gift cards to Knotzland Bowties Co., Pip & Lola’s Everything Handmade and other local shops, KidsBURGH® prizes, Cultural Trust gift cards and so much more!
“The spirit of the holiday season is rooted in giving, and we’re excited to do just that – give away prizes that remind everyone what makes our city so special, the many Only in Pittsburgh attractions, events and activities,” VisitPITTSBURGH President & CEO Jerad Bachar said. “Tickets for Kids is a fantastic Pittsburgh-based organization and giving back to Pittsburghers through this charity is the perfect way to kick this program off. As we continue through the 10 days of giveaways, we’re thrilled to be able to highlight and showcase so many different and wonderful aspects of Pittsburgh that help make this city a must-see travel destination.”
The promotional giveaways also open to the general public on Wednesday with a $25 Primanti Bros. gift card for the first 50 visitors who mention the 10 Days of #LovePGH Giveaways at the Primanti Bros. Market Square location.
Additionally, local artist August Vernon will be on-site at the restaurant Wednesday morning painting a portrait of Pittsburgh legend, which will be a featured giveaway in the 10 days as well.
Each of the 10 days of the promotion, VisitPITTSBURGH will share details of that day’s specific prize package and how to enter to win across its various social media channels and website, VisitPITTSBURGH.com.
The Pittsburgh travel and tourism industry continues to wade through the long recovery process brought on by the COVID-19 global pandemic. In fact, according to a National Travel Forecast released by the U.S. Travel Association and Tourism Economics in early November, domestic travel spend is expected to be close to 2019 levels by the end of 2022, with full recovery in 2023.
“While we’ve certainly seen an uptick in leisure travel throughout the second half of this year, we know that our local businesses and attractions are still looking for support,” Bachar noted. “VisitPITTSBURGH is actively working with our community to help in the continued rebound for the region’s travel and tourism economy. This giveaway is another great opportunity for us to highlight some of the amazing things that Pittsburgh has to offer.”
