Jim Britt Joins VisitPITTSBURGH
Britt to lead VisitPITTSBURGH’s sports development division, SportsPITTSBURGH
(PITTSBURGH, PA) – VisitPITTSBURGH is pleased to today announce the appointment of Jim Britt as the new Vice President of Sports Events. Britt, a seasoned professional in sports and nonprofit industries with deep roots in Pittsburgh, will be responsible for overseeing VisitPITTSBURGH’s sports tourism initiatives, driving economic impact through world-class sports events and further elevating Pittsburgh’s reputation as a premier sports destination.
With nearly 20 years of experience in sports management and a background in delivering exceptional event experiences, Britt brings a wealth of knowledge and local expertise to the VisitPITTSBURGH team.
Previously, he has held leadership roles as the Executive Director of the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation; Vice President, Fan Development & Growth at the Pittsburgh Penguins; and most recently, the Head of Partnership Solutions at WQED. Throughout these roles, he has successfully executed large-scale sports events, led community and fan engagement programs, and generated significant benefits to the region, athletes and families served.

As Vice President of Sports Events, Britt will lead SportsPITTSBURGH and its efforts to attract and manage high-profile sports tournaments, competitions, and championship events, working closely with regional stakeholders, including local sports teams, hoteliers, educational partners, and community leaders.
