Costa Rican Mask-Making Workshop at the Latin American Cultural Center
Join us at the Latin American Cultural Center for a hands-on mask-
making workshop inspired by Costa Rican traditions.
Exhibits open 10am-4pm. Workshop 1pm - 4pm.
Boruca masks are handcrafted, hand-painted, and often carved from
lightweight balsa wood by the Indigenous Boruca people of southern
Costa Rica. Workshop participants will paint their own version of a
Boruca mask using reused materials. The workshop will be led by Costa
Rican artist Ricardo Solis, a mixed-media artist whose work is also
featured in the special Costa Rica exhibit currently on display at the
Center. Materials will be provided.
This will be a fun, creative experience for families, students, and
community members of all ages. We hope to see you there!
