Wishing You a Joyful Holiday Season!
With the holidays rapidly approaching, we want to sincerely thank you for your ongoing support and the opportunity to work alongside you. You are such an important part of our journey here at SportsPITTSBURGH year in and year out.
The excitement of 2025 stretched across every corner of Pittsburgh. We welcomed more than 65 events in 17 sports, creating non-stop energy throughout the region from the USA BMX Stars & Stripes Nationals to a packed schedule of volleyball tournaments to youth basketball on back-to-back weekends. We also welcomed gymnastics and celebrated championships in soccer, cheer and more as the city remained a top destination for sports competition.
The excitement was highlighted by:
- Crowning a national champion at the NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Elite Eight
- J.J. Spaun’s unforgettable 64-foot birdie putt to win the U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club
- The first-ever Savannah Bananas visit to PNC Park
- Nearly 2,000 athletes competing at the JCC Maccabi Campus Games at the University of Pittsburgh
It was a banner year, and we are incredibly energized by what lies ahead. Key events will include the NFL Draft coming to Pittsburgh for the first time and the Atlantic 10 Men’s Basketball Tournament in 2026, the USA Karate Championships and NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball First and Second Rounds in 2027, and the U.S. Women’s Open Golf Championship in 2028.
And that’s just scratching the surface.
We take great pride in working to ensure Pittsbu.rgh maintains its well-earned reputation as a spectacular sports destination. That important mission is the reason we are here.
So, from all of us at SportsPITTSBURGH, happy holidays and best wishes for a New Year filled with joy, success and memorable moments.
