PITTSBURGH – Jennifer Hawkins, the executive director of SportsPITTSBURGH, announced the hiring of Dana (Collins) Kramer as the department’s senior development manager.
Kramer is responsible for promoting Pittsburgh to sports event and meeting planners. In her role, she will serve as the first point of contact for event owners as they consider Pittsburgh as a host city, which includes partnering with local organizations to serve as co-hosts for major sports events. Kramer will be responsible for showing event owners the variety of iconic experiences that embody the identity of Pittsburgh for athletes, fans and staff.
Kramer joins SportsPITTSBURGH with more than 13 years of hospitality, events and sales experience. Most recently, she served as a sales manager for the Omni William Penn Hotel where she oversaw the corporate and collegiate sports markets, including multiple 2018 NCAA events.
“Dana’s work experience and skills are well aligned to enhance our sports marketing efforts and help us promote Pittsburgh and Allegheny County as a legendary sports city,” Hawkins said. “We look forward to utilizing her knowledge and expertise to continue to develop best practices in the sports arena.”
A native Pittsburgher, Kramer earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Robert Morris University in business administration, with a concentration in hospitality management and communications.
As the sports development division of VisitPITTSBURGH, SportsPITTSBURGH’s primary goal is to attract and host a wide variety of sporting events while providing planners and local stakeholders with the expertise and professionalism required to host a world-class event in the Pittsburgh region.
