CMU All University Orchestra presents A Dance Odyssey
Carnegie Mellon University’s All University Orchestra (AUO) proudly presents their fall concert, A Dance Odyssey: From Budapest to Seville. Under the direction of Dr. Jeffrey Klefstad, this enchanting musical journey will take you through the vibrant and diverse landscapes of European dance.
Musical selections include Brahm's lively Hungarian Dance Nr. 1 (conducted by AUO Assistant Conductor, William Holtz), Ravel's virtuosic Tzigane for violin (featuring AUO Concerto Competition winner Nathaniel Dene Hoffman); Massenet's rich and elegant ballet suite from the opera Le Cid; Dvořák’s folk-inspired Slavonic Dance Nr. 8, op. 46, and Kodály’s dynamic Dances of Galánta.
The concert will take place at 4:30pm on Sunday, November 17th - Carnegie Music Hall (Oakland)
